My hp pavilion has blue lines everywhere.?

My laptop is a couple years old and all of a sudden the screen went red, now it always has parallel blue lines in every other set of vertical pixels. When i used a secondary monitor it was fine and normal, what could be wrong (the lines are only where its white space)
