Can you go in chlorine pools with a belly button piercing?

so i went with my friend to get her belly button pierced and i want mine done. i was thinking of self piercing with a sterile self piercing kit. i wanted to get mine done on holiday, but there will be a chlorine pool and ill probably be going in it at least once a day. can you go in a chlorine pool with a belly piercing and if no why?
