Back in Sodom, there were men marrying men! That's disgusting! God only wants men to marry women!?

Such are the words of my dad to my SIX-YEAR OLD brother after reading a cleverly adapted version of the classic Biblical tale. I haven't come out as an atheist yet so I just sat in silence, but in great dismay over what had been said. He then went on to say that God "hates it" when men marry men. Not just makes him sad, or love the sinner, hate the sin, but literally God HATES gay marriage. Boy, I can only imagine how my dad would react were I to tell him I'm gay someday. I'm definitely going to wait until I'm financially independent to do it. Do you agree with me that it was unethical for my dad to tell my little brother these things, even if my dad himself is not a generally hateful person?
