Is it harmful in any way to get your ears stretched in one sitting at a tattoo and piercing shop?

The piercers are professional of course and they use sterile needles and tapers. I guess they'd use a 4G needle and so on from there. Would that cause a blowout or anything? I wouldn't think it would because they're trained. Also, if I do that would they ever shrink back to normal? If I only stretched to about a 4G?
